Earlier this week I organized a BBQ gathering at my place for the great interns working with us this summer. I’ve been working with interns in two separate projects…
- Datacenter-related in collaboration with James Hamilton and Dan Reed‘s Data Center Futures team;
- “Semantics Summer of Fun” together with Evelyne Viegas.
We’ve been very lucky with all the interns and I think they have been enjoying it as well. Unfortunately, the time has passed fast and the first ones have already started to depart.
From left to right:
- Pablo (Beate’s boyfriend);
- Evelyne Viegas (my conspirator in the semantic computing space and a great collaborator… I love working with Evelyne!);
- Beth Huffer (semantics fun);
- Zach Hill (datacenter-related project, University of Virginia);
- Thilina Gunarathne (datacenter-related project, Indiana University);
- Chung-wei Hang (Semantics/Social networking, North Carolina State University);
- Palani Kodeswaran (Semantics/Privacy, University of Maryland Baltimore County);
- Zareen Syed (Semantics/Information Extraction, University of Maryland Baltimore County);
- Beate Krause (Semantics/Social networking, Universit t Kassel)
There were others at the BBQ (like Alex Wade, Andrea Westerinen, etc.) who are not in the photo.
It was a wonderful day.
One response to “Our wonderful interns”
Thanks a lot Savas for inviting us to ur place for the BBQ, as well as having us as interns. BBQ was fun, as was the whole summer by having the opportunity to work with you and other great people. BTW you have a nice house in a nice area.
On a side note, good that I wore a t-shirt with white strips. If not poor readers will have a hard time finding me in the pic ;-)…
