A studentship available for PhD students outside the UK

This is from the announcement of a studentship for the UK all-hands meeting 2004 in which I am involved.

The UK e-Science Programme All Hands Meeting is the flagship meeting for dissemination within the UK of its e-science activities. Last year's meeting attracted over 450 attendees with demonstrations from the National and regional e-science centres, and the other projects. A multi-track conference session provided a more traditional dissemination route and a series of workshops enabled focussed discussion of relevant issues. This year's meeting promises to be even bigger than last year.

The goal of this PhD Studentship programme is to encourage the development of collaborative research activities between young researchers in the UK e-science programme with their contempories from other countries. It is envisaged that these young researchers will be involved in their e-science programmes - either from an applied perspective in using Grid systems to undertake their science, or in the development of middleware to support their applied research communities.

If you are or you know a PhD student who meets the conditions of the studentship, please apply. More information and instructions here.
