I arrived today in Prague. Really beautiful city.
I am here for the Microsoft Academic Days 2004 for Central and Eastern Europe. I was invited my Microsoft to talk about our work in Newcastle on Internet-scale computing (a.k.a. Grid). There are about 250 delegates here. I noticed today that the speakers wear on of those head-mounted microphones that singers wear during concerts 🙂 I think I’ll have to do that tomorrow too. Oh… and the event is being recorded.
I am looking forward to tomorrow. I am going to talk about our approach to Internet-scale computing using Web Services and by focusing on the messages. I will only have one slide on MEST but I will attempt, for the first time, to demonstrate the current build of our White Dwarfs application. Should be fun.
More tomorrow.
