Discussion on OGSA adopting WSRF as its infrastructure and the “Search for White Dwarfs”

A discussion has taken place in the OGSA WG mailing list on whether the OGSA platform should be based on WS-RF. We contributed our views supporting the adoption of only stable specifications but the group decided in favour of WS-RF. As Jim said in a post to the WS-GAF mailing list, it’s time to compare platforms based on actual systems.

Our work on the Web Services-based application to search for white dwarfs in our galaxy is taking shape. We hope to release an early prototype in the next few weeks.

Also, the ideas behind our commercially-oriented application are more stable now. We know that we are going to do some work using RFIDs. More info coming soon.
