Going to San Francisco tomorrow

I am travelling to San Francisco tomorrow. It’s going to be a long long journey. Time to catch with some work then… I bought “Astronomy: The Evolving Universe” for this journey, which I hope to read on the plane. I need an introduction to astronomy and astrophysics for the application we are going to build.

For me, the highlight of this trip is going to be my meeting with Jim Gray. We are going to talk about the WS-GAF application that we are starting here, which is going to utilise the SkyServer. BTW, we are looking for a name for this application. If you have any ideas, let me know.

I am also looking forward to finding out about the new proposals by IBM and the Globus alliance on the future of the Grid specifications. It’s going to be an interesting few days.
