What's going on (from twitter)

Ok... I don't usually advertise Microsoft products (in fact, I don't think I've ever done that), but this deal is pretty cool.* If you are a student, you can get Microsoft Office Ultimate for $59.95 (that's VERY VERY cheap**). There is a UK version as well.

* and also one of my good friends here in Seattle is involved with the promotion :-)

** please, no jokes about Open Office being free :-)

"the full retail price of Office Ultimate 2007 (approximate ERP £599.99)"

So, the 'Ultimate Steal'... is that different to daylight robbery? :)

Nah. Buy a (firmware 1.0.2!!) iPhone instead. $299, but you get to experience the future. Unless Apple fucks it up.

we got recommended www.software4students.co.uk by our school, you are not limited to a .ac.uk e-mail (I don't have one), as far as I can tell you just need to know someone in education and they seem to have a lot more products, the site is recommended by Microsoft, I suppose it's another option.
