Microsoft PopFly

Wow! I started using PopFly today and is sooooo cool! The “Create Mashup” tool is effectively dataflow (very much like Yahoo Pipes!) built using Silverlight so you can use it on the Mac too.

The “Create Page” is also interesting because of its Ribbon interface and editing capabilities.

The possibilities for scientific collaboration, especially around workflow/dataflows are great, straight from within a web browser.

There is a video about PopFly over on Channel 9.

  1. You can only use it on a mac if you have an intel mac… all of us powerpc based mac users aren’t able to play.

  2. Actually, it doesn’t depends on what type of Mac you have. At the moment it’s a ‘request an invite’ stage. Shame, would be cool to have a play with. Also, on my Intel Mac any Silverlight app crashes Firefox and Opera/Safari aren’t yet supported.

  3. hmm, it’s not quite what it says here:

Never mind, at least we still have more de-facto standards like html, javascript and dare I say it: flash to play with 🙂
