SCUBA diving

Wooo hooo! After 4 days of continuous diving (two 3-hour pool sessions and 4 dives in cold waters) I am now a certified SCUBA diver 🙂 I am hoping to practice my newly acquired skills very soon since I am going to be visiting Jim in Australia in a couple of weeks time 🙂

I am tired now but it was worth it.

  1. Congratulations – SCUBA is a great deal of fun – especially in the warm waters! I’ve never done it in Australia, but hear it is a blast.

    Cheers.

Well done Savas. Hope you’ll have a great time in Aussie land. SCUBA is pure joy. Just be aware of the Box jellyfish when diving in these waters. They’re the world’s most lethal creatures as they pack enough poison to kill a roomfull of people! I just mention this cause the season for the Box Jellyfish starts around this time and lasts until April.

Personally, I like the Greek beaches and seas way better. It may be a bit colder right now for Chalkidiki but have you tried going to the Peloponnese? Best swimming experience ever! And no sharks or venomous creatures at all. No place in australia can match the Greek waters.

    Have fun.

  3. Hey Tom, I have travelled all around Greece but never went diving. I am not sure the mediterrean sea is very good for diving because it’s not as ‘old’ as our oceans. But still… looking forward to going there the coming summer 🙂
