Car bought!
So, I bought the Audi A3 today (Lava Gray with a pearl effect and some extra options). My first ever car! Thank you to all of you who replied to my request for comments either on my blog or privately. Many many thanks!
I was thinking today about the changing times we live. I have been negotiating the price for the A3 with two car dealers and I think I got a great deal at the end. The interesting part was how something like the non-standard-for-Audi iPod connector was part of my requested configuration. And yes, my A3 will have an integrated iPod connection so I can listen to all my MP3s, those podcasts I’ll be downloading, and audio books while stack in the Seattle/Redmond traffic jams :-)

I take it it’s a 5 door version…
I am afraid there was no other choice. If there was a 3-door version (e.g. S3) I would have gone for that but in the US only the 5door version is available at the moment.

A $20 FM transmitter can perform the same function as the Audi iPod connector. How much did that option set you back?
I’ve heard about the quality of the FM transmitter being really bad. Also, the iPod car connector allows the control of the iPod through the steering wheel controls. I was quoted $500 for the connector and the installation but i managed to negotiate it almost as freebie :-)
