MS Research e-Science Workshop and GGF

As Dan Fey wrote in his blog, there is going to be an e-Science event here in Redmond early in October, the Microsoft Research eScience Workshop 2005. I will get the chance to meet some of my friends from the e-Science/Grid community and see Jim Gray again after HPTS. Also, Tony Hey is giving a keynote and it’s always great to listen to what he has to say. Oh… and Dan asked me to talk about my White Dwarfs application, so you’ll get some of me too if you are around. I’ve heard rumors that there may be a webcast of the event. If that’s the case, I’ll let you know.

BTW… If you are going to the GGF meeting in Boston (taking place just before the MSR eScience event), let me know and we can meet up for a drink. This is going to be my last GGF (yes, my “last” for the 3rd time :-). Of course, what I am doing here in Microsoft‘s Distributed Systems Group has nothing to do with the eScience and Grid communities but the other main eScience/Grid folks within MS cannot make it and given my job responsibilities until last month, I am going there instead.

I just had a look at my calendar. It’s filled already. HPTS at the end of next week, Boston the following week, the e-Science event, project meetings 🙂
