I disagree with Dave‘s conclusions in his discussion on Web Services vs Distributed Objects. I have explained in my analysis of the differences between the HTTP verbs, remote method invocations, and message-orientation why I think there is a difference between service-, resource-, and object-orientation (Building blocks of architectural paradigms).
